Deepen Publication Competence, FPsi Lecturers Join Qualitative Research Workshop
South Tangerang, February 26, 2025 - The Faculty of Psychology at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a faculty development program under the theme “Deepening Qualitative Research Methodology in Psychology.” The event featured Dr. Phill Idamsyah Eka Putra as the main speaker. Held in Room 108, the session aimed to enhance lecturers' understanding of qualitative approaches in psychological research.
In his presentation, Dr. Phill Idamsyah Eka Putra elaborated on various in-depth aspects of qualitative research methodology. He emphasized the importance of understanding research paradigms, data collection techniques, and qualitative analysis tailored to psychological contexts. He also provided examples of qualitative studies that have been applied in various psychological research projects in Indonesia.
The event was conducted interactively, featuring discussion and Q&A sessions that actively engaged the lecturers. Some of the topics discussed included challenges in qualitative research validity, strategies to improve objectivity in data analysis, and the application of theory in psychological research. Participants showed great enthusiasm in exploring the material presented by the speaker.
In her opening remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology at UIN Jakarta expressed appreciation for the event as part of ongoing efforts to develop faculty lecturers' competencies. She stressed that a strong understanding of qualitative methodology is crucial for enriching research perspectives in psychology, especially when exploring complex social and cultural phenomena.
Through this initiative, it is hoped that lecturers of the Faculty of Psychology UIN Jakarta will become more proficient in applying qualitative research methods in their studies. Furthermore, the outcomes of this training are expected to contribute to enhancing the quality of psychological research that is more contextual and applicable within the UIN Jakarta academic environment.
