Legal Empowerment Training for Future Leaders: Empowering Future Leaders to Advance Justice through the Legal System

On October 17, 2024, the Faculty of Psychology UIN Jakarta held the "Legal Empowerment Training for Future Leaders: Empowering Future Leaders to Advance Justice through the Legal System" at Prof. Dr. Zakiah Darajat Theater, FPSI. This event aims to equip students with skills and understanding in utilizing the legal system to fight for justice.

This event was opened by Dr. Yunita Faela Nisa, M.Psi., Psychologist, as the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UIN Jakarta. In her remarks, Dr. Yunita emphasized the importance of young leaders' role in building a just society. "Through this training, we hope that the participants can become agents of change who can fight for people's rights and advocate for justice through legal channels," said Dr. Yunita.

Moderated by Resti Qathrunnada, the first seminar session was delivered by the resource person Muhammad Fadhil Bilad, S.Hub., Int., who presented material on "Legislative Seminar in the University Scope." Fadhil discussed how students can play an active role in legislative activities on campus and encourage policies that favor student interests and social justice. He also invited the participants to participate in policy advocacy to advance student rights.

The next session was filled by the second speaker, Muhammad Fathur Royyan, S.Psi., who delivered material on "Legislative Seminar in the Faculty Scope." Royyan underlined the importance of legal awareness among students, especially in the faculty realm, and how legislative activities at the faculty level can be the first step to championing essential issues at a broader level. Royyan invited the participants to be more actively involved in policy formation in the faculty to encourage positive change.

This training was attended by students from various departments and faculties interested in deepening their understanding of law and advocacy. With this event, it is hoped that the participants can develop their capacity as leaders who can utilize the legal system to advance justice and empower society.
