FPSI Online News – As an effort to improve the quality of academic facilities and infrastructure in early 2025, the Faculty of Psychology (UIN) Jakarta is optimizing the discussion room in the faculty library. This step aims to provide a more comfortable and conducive space for Lecturers, Education Personnel, and Students in conducting research, discussions, group study, and working on academic assignments.

First Expert Librarian Mrs. Nenden Serena Hidayani S.IP said that this optimization includes various aspects, starting from improving facilities, rearranging the space, to providing supporting technology. "We understand the importance of a comfortable discussion room for the academic community of the Faculty of Psychology, especially in supporting an active and collaborative learning process. Therefore, we are making several changes that are expected to provide maximum benefits for library users," said Mrs. Nenden.

Some of the improvements made include the addition of ergonomic tables and chairs, power outlets at each table, increased high-speed internet access and other hearing needs, and iconic lights that can be adjusted according to user preferences.

Discussion room users welcomed this initiative. One of them, Amanda, a Masters student who is currently writing her thesis, stated that the optimization of this discussion room is very helpful in supporting the effectiveness of learning. "In the past, we often had difficulty finding a comfortable place to research and discuss. Now with better discussion room facilities, we can be more focused and productive in researching and working on college assignments," she said.

In addition to physical optimization, the library also plans to hold various academic programs such as scientific discussions, Reference Management Tools learning, and seminars involving lecturers and students. It is hoped that this program can be realized in the faculty library and further improve the academic atmosphere in the library environment. 

With the optimization of this discussion room, the Faculty of Psychology UIN Jakarta hopes that students can more freely develop their academic potential. This step is also in line with the university's vision to create a modern, innovative learning environment that supports collaboration between students. 

The faculty invites all students to make maximum use of this facility and together maintain the comfort of the discussion room so that it remains conducive to learning. With the support of adequate facilities, it is hoped that students can be more motivated to achieve higher academic achievements.
