As part of the Visiting Expert - Senior Expert Service (SES) Germany program with Dr. Med. Vet. Mohamad Farouq, the Faculty of Medicine at the State Development University "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) invited representatives from the Faculty of Psychology at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta to participate in the Laboratory Management Workshop, State of the Art in Animal Research Facilities Management Workshop, and Hands-on Animal Handling Management Workshop, held from Tuesday, October 8, 2024, to Friday, October 11, 2024.

The workshop was attended by four student representatives from the Faculty of Psychology: Zhorif Fattah Rizqulloh (11210700000129), Rahadian Danar Praditya (11210700000134), Rifa Nur Saadah (11210700000220), and Jihan Saniya Salsabila (11210700000238). By participating in the series of workshops at UPNVJ Pondok Labu, the students learned about procedures and animal handling techniques. The animals used during the workshop were laboratory rats designated for research purposes.

On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, the UIN Jakarta team participated in the Laboratory Management workshop, which involved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) discussions. This discussion was essential for cooperative learning among the involved parties. Furthermore, on Thursday, October 10, the student team attended the State of the Art in Animal Research Facilities workshop, covering essential considerations in research involving rat samples. This provided new insights into understanding procedures for "animal research." In the final agenda, on Friday, October 11, the student team took part in the Hands-on Animal Handling Management workshop, learning in-depth about handling animals (rats) for research purposes. Practical sessions included blood sampling, anesthesia, and dissection by established procedures.

The invitation to this workshop is part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Faculty of Psychology at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and the Faculty of Medicine at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta on Education, Research, and Community Service in the fields of Neuroscience and Psychology. This collaboration will last for five years, starting in 2024.
