World Mental Health Day 2023 Seminar ”Improve Yourself with Mental Health: Mental Health is a Human Priority”
On Monday, October 23 2023 at 14.00-17.00 WIB at the Zakiah Drajat Theater, Faculty of Psychology, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, a seminar commemorating World Mental Health Day 2023 was held which was organized by the Student Psychological Welfare Institute (LKPM) Faculty of Psychology, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This event is open to the public and attended by approximately 150 participants.
This event is the main project in a series of commemorations of World Mental Health Day starting on Monday, October 16 2023, held by the Student Psychological Welfare Institute (LKPM) team, Faculty of Psychology, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. The series of projects that have been implemented previously are campaigns. show your emotion, campaign gratitude corner, and video campaign.
In commemoration of World Mental Health Day this year, the LKPM team raised the theme "Improve Yourself with Mental Health: Mental Health is a Human Priority". By continuing to refer to the global theme of this year's World Mental Health Day, namely "Mental Health is a Universal Human Right: Our Minds Our Rights", which is motivated by the many stigmas and lack of awareness of the importance of recognizing and respecting the mental autonomy of each individual, the Institute team Student Psychological Welfare (LKPM) Faculty of Psychology, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta would like to highlight the importance of protecting and recognizing mental health as a universal human right and prioritizing mental health in an effort to improve oneself. So that in the future it is hoped that every individual will have an awareness of their right to have control over their thoughts and emotions, which includes the right to think, feel and express themselves freely without fear or unwanted intervention.
This activity was attended directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, namely Mrs. Yunita Faela Nisa, M.Psi., Psychologist. along with staff, Deputy Dean 3 for Student Affairs, Alumni and Cooperation, namely Mrs. Dr. Rena Latifa, M.Psi., Psychologist., Chair of the Student Psychological Welfare Institute namely Mrs. Neneng Tati Sumiati, M.Sc., Psychologist., and also attended by professors and educational staff from the Psychology faculty at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
This event began with an opening at 14.00 WIB by the MC, namely Lutpi Apriyansyah and Sesy Aulia Jasmine, then continued with the reading of verses from the holy Qur'an, playing the National Anthem Indonesia Raya, the UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Hymn, and the Faculty March song. The remarks were delivered by the head of the organizer of the World Mental Health Day Seminar, Niswa Ajibah, the head of the Student Psychological Welfare Institute, Mrs. The official name is Mrs. Yunita Faela Nisa, M.Psi., Psychologist.
After the opening series, the event continued with a series of appearances from the organizing committee for the commemoration of World Mental Health Day. The performances included Musical Theater with the songs Jagoan, Persahabatan by Pribadi Sherina Munaf and Terhebat by CJR, as well as a lecture on Psychology from an Islamic perspective by Ridho Syafa Raihan.
After the series of performances, the event continued with the main series, namely the delivery of material by the resource person, namely Drg. R. Vensya Sitohang, M. Epid. who is the Director of Mental Health at the Indonesian Ministry of Health and Dr. Dr. Isa Multazam,. SpKj. who is a Psychiatrist at RSJ Grogol Jakarta. This series was guided directly by the moderator, namely Mrs. Sorayah, M. Psi., Psychologist.
Important points conveyed by Dr. Dr. Isa Multazam,. SpKj. as the first resource person, namely that positive thinking is an effort to maintain individual cognitive fitness, where positive thinking has a significant influence on increasing students' self-confidence. Then at the end of his presentation, he also said that good habits act as a "Mental Vaccine" which can provide conditions for optimal brain health and increase the brain's resilience to challenges that reduce brain health, and that universities have an important role in empowering students to increase resilience to stress. , well-being, and learning by developing a profile of good habits in a positive thinking style.
Then there was the topic presented by the second resource person, Drg. R. Vensya Sitohang, M. Epid. namely regarding the Regulation of Mental Health Services in Indonesia: Mental Health is the Human Rights of Everyone. The important point he conveyed was that by taking advantage of the demographic bonus, we can improve the psychological well-being of society as a whole, which involves teenagers as agents of change for their peers, family and environment. In this way, Indonesian people can obtain maximum benefits from the human resources they have.
After the presentation of the material was complete, the series of events continued with the presentation of certificates and souvenirs for the speakers and moderator, which were given directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, namely Mrs. Yunita Faela Nisa, M.Psi., Psychologist., Deputy Dean 3 for Student Affairs, Alumni , and Collaboration namely Mrs. Dr. Rena Latifa, M.Psi., Psychologist. This was then continued with a documentation session.
Before entering the closing series, the series continued first with performances from Psychology students at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. These performances are Stand Up Comedy by Muhammad Dimaz, Live Music Performance by Lso (Semi-Autonomous Institution) Psychology Musical Society, Faculty of Psychology, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, and World Mental Health Day video campaign performance by the LKPM team.
After a series of performances, the event continued with closing by the MC at 17.00 WIB. Thus, the event commemorating World Mental Health Day at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta went solemnly and smoothly. We hope that by holding this activity, it can be the first step to foster understanding, respect and support for mental health as a universal and aware human right. that mental health is a priority that must be prioritized by every individual in an effort to achieve healthy and sustainable personal growth and development.
